The story behind HaloPaws
A quiet belief that meaningful change begins with understanding.
About HaloPaws
HaloPaws was created from a simple but deeply rooted belief: meaningful change in animal welfare does not happen through urgency alone, but through thoughtful collaboration, trust, and sustainable support.
Rather than operating as a traditional shelter or rescue, HaloPaws focuses on strengthening the people and organisations already working on the ground. Around the world, countless individuals dedicate their lives to helping animals with limited resources, often carrying the emotional and practical weight alone. HaloPaws does not aim to replace local efforts, but to stand beside them – strengthening what already exists and helping sustainable change grow from within.
The vision behind HaloPaws is quiet but intentional: to build bridges between compassion and sustainable action. By supporting emergency veterinary care, promoting responsible sterilisation programs, and developing trusted partnerships, HaloPaws aims to create lasting impact without replacing local efforts or imposing external solutions.
At its core, HaloPaws believes in respectful collaboration, transparency, and growth that happens step by step. Every decision is guided by the idea that real change grows slowly – through relationships, understanding, and a shared commitment to doing better for animals and the communities around them.
HaloPaws is not built overnight. It is evolving carefully, with patience and purpose, creating a foundation that allows kindness to become sustainable.
Behind every vision, there is a personal story. HaloPaws began with one – shaped by experiences, encounters, and a quiet belief that meaningful change grows from within.

About Samanta
Animals, especially dogs, have always touched me deeply. Growing up in Switzerland and travelling early allowed me to see different realities – but also the same challenges repeating across borders. No matter how beautiful these experiences were, one thing followed me almost everywhere: the presence of street dogs, and the quiet feeling of not being able to simply look away.
These encounters stayed with me. Not from a desire to “save the world,” but from a deeper belief that every animal deserves dignity, safety, and understanding. To me, dogs are not problems to be fixed, but sensitive beings whose behaviour often reflects the circumstances created around them. Beneath everything, I see them as profoundly loving companions – quiet reminders of trust, resilience, and unconditional connection.
Over time, I began to notice how meaningful change rarely happens all at once. I felt drawn not only to helping directly, but also to listening, learning, and understanding the people and realities behind each situation – searching for ways to support with care and intention rather than urgency alone.
I came to realise that my strength lies in creating calm spaces, bringing structure to ideas, and building connections rooted in trust. I am not driven by speed, but by depth – believing that lasting impact grows through patience, collaboration, and genuine respect for those already doing the work on the ground.
From this mindset, HaloPaws was born – not as a sudden idea, but as a natural extension of everything I had felt, learned, and carried within me along the way.

About Myriam
My name is Myriam Navarro and I am a co-founder of the association HaloPaws.
Animals have accompanied me throughout my entire life. From an early age, I felt that they are more than just companions – they are sentient beings with individual needs, their own personalities, and a deep capacity to trust.
HaloPaws was born from this conviction.
With our association, I am committed – with heart, dedication, and a strong sense of responsibility – to the protection, support, and placement of animals. For me, one principle always stands at the center: sustainable animal welfare. It is not only about helping in the moment, but about creating long-term solutions, raising awareness, and bringing people and animals together in a responsible and thoughtful way.
HaloPaws is more than an organization to me. It is a mission of the heart. Every rescued animal, every successful adoption, and every small improvement in an animal’s life strengthens my determination to continue on this path.
I am grateful for every person who supports our work – whether through adoption, donations, active involvement, or simply by sharing our vision: a world in which animals are treated with respect, dignity, and love.
Together, we can achieve great things.
Warm regards,
Myriam Navarro

Oxa – The heart behind HaloPaws
Oxa came into our lives in 2015, at just one year old – not planned, not expected, but deeply felt.
She had already lived in several homes and spent time in two shelters. She arrived with fear, uncertainty, and much to learn. What she needed was not rescue alone, but patience, structure, and trust.
Over the years, through dedication, training, and daily commitment, Oxa transformed. Not because she was “fixed” – but because she was understood.
She taught us that sustainable change does not happen through urgency. It happens through consistency, safety, and relationship.
Oxa is more than a beloved companion.
She is a living reminder of what becomes possible when compassion is paired with responsibility.
HaloPaws carries that same belief.
HaloPaws is still growing –
quietly, thoughtfully, and step by step.
See how impact begins
